If you are an educator or have a special skill that you want to market, now has never been a better time to start marketing your course online.

Teachable is a cloud-based platform that lets you create your own website, courses, and even a blog that your students can interact with!

It is an ideal platform for those who want to reach more students online without having to become a master developer.

What is Teachable?

Teachable is cloud-based, which means all of your work will be entirely online. You can use any computer or device to log into your account, and you won’t have to worry about downloading any complicated software.

Setting up your course is incredibly simple. You fill out basic information like course descriptions, video and title descriptions, etc. Then you upload your first video and presto! Your first lesson is ready to sell! You can even use their customization tools to add different colors, themes, and fonts.

How Does It Work?

What sets Teachable apart from other course platforms is your ability to communicate with your students. Not only can you post video lessons. You can also assign quizzes, hold Zoom discussions, give completion certificates, and much more.

Once you have created your account and chosen a payment plan, you can start creating your first course! If you choose the free plan, you can still launch a course, but the transaction fees will be substantially higher than those of the more advanced payment plans.

Payment Plans

There are three different payment plans to choose from (four, if you count the free version). While each plan will of course increase in value, they all have basic features such as unlimited students, templates for both course and coaching products, and instant payouts.

The Basic plan is only $29/month, but you will pay a transaction fee every time a student purchases a product. One level up from there is the Pro plan, which is $99/month. At this level, you can integrate with PayPal or Slate and avoid the transaction fees altogether. You will also have access to Teachable’s affiliate marketing services, where you will get a commission every time a student purchases a 3rd party product or service you recommend.

The Business plan is a whole $249/month and is only recommended to those with their own network of teachers and courses. This plan is intricate enough that you can easily scale into a functioning business. Hence the name.
